They work with clients to collaboratively develop and deliver Innovative Packaging Solutions that enhance and optimise customers’ businesses and their brands.

North Film were commissioned to create a film highlighting Sonoco Europe’s commitment to developing new sustainable processes and products for consumers. Taking in shoots in two UK locations and one abroad, North worked to pull together the footage with a slick, modern graphical approach that tied the narrative together. The client was delighted with the final result and we’ve since begun work on our next collaboration together.

Griffin is building a bank that makes a difference. Describing itself as "the bank you can build on", Griffin makes it simple, quick, and cost-effective to develop and launch financial products.

In the middle of their latest investor funding drive, Griffin were looking for a series of films that would showcase their services, calibre of team and success in the market, as well as highlighting the considerations and strong support it had from their current investors.

This longer promotional film was one of ten films created for Griffin, to be used primarily for attracting investment and breaking down what makes them so unique, from their origins through to their current offerings in the market.

Working with Manchester Agency Drumbeat, North Film created this promotional piece for Staffordshire based company MCS Roofing & Cladding.

With a desire to show off not just their services, but also their core team and keen attention to detail, we decided against a graphics led approach, instead opting to keep the camera following the team and observing the personalised approach taken by the staff.

Supporting this more “day in the life” approach was a selection of stunning drone footage, carefully planned and curated to maximise the space, showcasing the extensive equipment on hand and also highlighting the stunning scenics available locally to their offices.

Northern Gritstone are are an independent investment company, supporting the leading businesses of tomorrow which emerge from the world-class science and innovation hub that is the North of England today.

North Film were on hand to capture their Annual Investor day, which took place at Nexus as part of Leeds University. We recorded and delivered their full AGM and event to them, as well as producing this short highlights film for use on their social platforms.

Working once again with Manchester based agency Drumbeat we collaborated on this promotional film for the stunning South Central in Leeds. With their opening date approaching, the client required a walk-through film that would showcase their wide ranging amenities whilst also taking in their meticulous attention to detail in all aspects.

The purpose of the film will be to attract new tenants to take over the spaces available and so it was important that the film get across the myriad of facilities, from an onsite gym and showers, to the office spaces themselves and the overall environmental credentials of the building.

Filmed with a mix of gimbal, tripod and drone videography, we worked to showcase every inch of SC, before creating a graphical treatment that worked in tandem with the existing branding, creating a film that delighted the client and is sure to help put this exciting location on the map.

East Coast Concepts are creators and operators of vibrant hospitality concepts, running both the Neighbourhood and Victors chains which are based throughout the UK. Their ethos is that they want their customers to “step beyond the ordinary” when entering their premises and, as such, they needed film content that also went above and beyond the ordinary.

Working with the agency Company Content, we devised a creative for two films - one focused on the company brand values and one dedicated to their culture. Taking in different chains across Manchester, Leeds and Oxford, we worked to capture the great team spirit that makes ECC what it is. Supporting all of this footage were extensive interviews with key members of the team, where we worked to create not just great soundbites about the company, but also to bring out peoples’ personalities and character, things that all helped contribute to what makes the company as successful; as it is.

Once the shoots were wrapped, we set about a lengthy post-production process, trimming down spoken-word content from 15 interviewees and threading the narrative, whilst bring together other company messaging through on-screen graphics. The result is a duo of films that the client was thrilled with and that sits at the heart of their new recruitment drive and company rebrand.

744 Experience is an advanced and immersive Boeing 747-400 fixed base Flight Simulator and Upper Deck experience, situated near Tattenhall, Cheshire, in the UK. An original concept, with original equipment and three years in the planning and making – they are the genuine 744 Experience.

744 Experience were looking for a film that would help put them on the map - with a launch date approaching, they needed a promotional film to help launch their website and social platforms and generate interest on their incredible offering. North worked to create this featured promotional film, as well as several short social edits for various platforms.

Founded in 2006 in a small studio in Stockport by Manchester mates Mark and Justin, Brand IMS has grown to include a head office in Manchester, supported by hubs in Australia, the Middle East and India, offering 24/7 resource. Brand are global leaders in packaging production for some of the largest consumer Brand’s and printers.

North Film were originally brought onboard to help capture the Brand story and relay their extensive services, clients and pedigree in a short, punchy, exciting way. Having been so delighted with the finished product, we then collaborated once again on an animated film to simplify and explain their VA (Visual Approval) offering as well.

Culture Shift exists to lead a positive change in organisational culture. Their entire team shares a strong belief that everyone should have a positive experience in their place of work and study.

Their online reporting platform gives organisations the insight they need to monitor and prevent bullying and harassment in educational institutions and workplaces. The underlying principles of Report + Support were originally developed by the University of Manchester’s Equality Diversity & Inclusion Team, in collaboration with their Students’ Union in 2014. By combining Culture Shift’s skills and their ground work they were able to develop the initial release of the project and in February 2017 Manchester’s Report + Support platform was launched.

North Film worked with Culture Shift to create this promotional film highlighting the software and the excellent relationship that exists between the two.

Delivering both portrait and landscape assets, we work to time sensitive briefs to help them highlight and showcase their skills, expertise and services, as well as bringing to life multiple testimonials.

Deloitte is a leading global provider of audit and assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory, tax, and related services. They currently have approximately 330,000 people in more than 150 countries and territories and their culture and purpose - to make an impact that matters - is shared by their member firms all over the world.

North Film teamed up with Deloitte UK to capture their presence at the Smart Factory Expo in Liverpool over two days, where they were sponsoring the overall event. We captured interviews with key members of the team, as well as footage of the event as a whole. The footage was then handed over to the in-house team at Deloitte, who crafted these films.

As recently seen on Dragons Den, FRIDA ROME is the result of a decades long friendship between founders Natalie and Rebecca. A company born out of a desire to see more ethically-made, vegan products, they saw a gap in the market for a stylish new accessory with a conscience and so FRIDA ROME was created. With it came the WEEK/END, a deconstructable crossbody designed to illuminate any outfit on your favourite days of the week.

In their own words, “The WEEK/END is a lightweight, compact, statement accessory. Taking you effortlessly from Friday night cocktails to Sunday brunch and everything in between. Combining London looks with Northern Soul; this rebelliously British bag has a bold sophisticated exterior and a sensual playfulness inside.”

We have collaborated several times with FRIDA ROME, creating behind the scenes films, website and social content as well as promotional material and high-street campaign banners. Here is a small collection of some of our work together.

From Gaming and Media to Fashion and Music, the Creative Industries present a significant opportunity for early-stage investors. Contributing £111.7bn GVA to the UK economy, the creative industries supersede the contributions of automotive, aerospace, life sciences and oil and gas industries combined.

Working in combination with UKBAA and the ScaleUp Institute, North Film created a series of animated promos for each sector to highlight potential gains and losses for prospective investors. Each film needed to sit inline with the branding created for the project, bringing to life an array of facts and figures in a fun and playful way. As well as creating these films, we also created 50+ films as part of the program, where the bulk of the knowledge was shared. These films were made up of dozens of interviews conducted with industry experts virtually, with North working to brand up and edit them together slickly and professionally, as well as supplying versions with subtitles.

With these films working as an online course and sitting behind a paywall, the animations seen here needed to be as exciting and enticing as possible, to help convince people to sign up to the course.

Eccles is a historic market town within the city of Salford with a population of around 42,000 people. Eccles has excellent transport links, a strong heritage story, an emerging independent café and retail sector, an active community and voluntary sector and good education provision. However, Eccles has found recent years hard, particularly in terms of job opportunities, housing that doesn’t meet people’s needs, empty shops in the town centre and an overall lack of investment.

It’s now time for change. During 2022 Salford City council asked over 600 people: 'What does the future of Eccles look like and how do we get there?' As a result, there is now a shared vision that reflects the ambitions of the people who live, work and spend time in Eccles.

As part of this vision and the plans for the future of the town, North Film were brought in on behalf of Drumbeat to create a series of short films for social media to promote the amenities, community and values that make up Eccles. Captured with “real people”, the aim was to create something that felt positive and authentic, and as genuine as the people that make this town as special as it is.

As part of Chairman's Reserve Spice Lab, we proudly present a Kyra Elton collaboration; Ube. Captured inside Manchester cocktail bar Cane & Grain, we worked to develop a creative for Kyra that would be stylish and visually striking, adopting strong, bold images with a kinetic editing style.

At their Stockport offices, Xeinadin Group launched their new Rise Programme, designed to give business leaders the tools to grow not just their business, but also themselves as people. North Film were on hand to capture the events of the day, speaking to participants as well as members of Xeinadin about just what makes the programme so worthwhile.

CDE, a leading supplier of sand and aggregate wet processing solutions for the waste recycling and natural processing sectors, is celebrating its 30th year in business.

It comes as the company reveals its wet processing technologies have, over the past three decades, facilitated the diversion of over 100 million tonnes of construction, demolition and excavation (CD&E) waste from landfill globally.

The family-owned business has been at the leading edge of innovation in the materials processing industry since it was founded in 1992 by company Chairman Tony Convery. Since its inception, CDE has successfully delivered over 2,000 proven solutions in over 100 countries, and to this day the Convery family is central to the day-to-day operations of the global firm and the strategic direction of its promising future.

North Film were on hand at Hillhead to capture the companies stand where it was showcasing its state of the art equipment to new and existing customers. As part of the project, we shot and delivered several social edits within a 24 hour period - this film here was created as an overview of their experience on the day. The client was delighted with the film and speed of delivery, which capped off a superb experience for all involved at CDE.

Premier Image offers a variety of professional digital photographic and imaging services, ensuring customers get the very best out of their images. As part of this, they are able to offer the extraordinary clarity and archival quality only available from ChromaLuxe, the global manufacturing leader of premium dye sublimation media.

North Film spent a day with Premier Image, following their process from start to finish and capturing the incredible attention to detail that makes their service and this offering so unique.

Motive8 College is a small, warm, welcoming and exciting place to study. They are dedicated to providing vocational qualifications and courses to help young people work towards their ambitions and design their future.

Based in Bradford, but well within the reach of Halifax, Dewsbury and Huddersfield areas by public transport, they provide learning opportunities for 14-16 year olds, 16-19 school leavers and courses for adult students 19+.

North Film collaborated with Motive8 to create this storyboarded promotional film, designed to be informative and also emotive and uplifting. Speaking to a range of current and former students, teachers and parents, we worked to create a narrative that explored just why Motive8 is such a wonderful and inspiring place of study for its students.

Decentralising molecular diagnostics to the point of need, Genedrive® is a rapid and low cost molecular diagnostics platform for the identification and treatment selection of infectious diseases, human genotyping, pathogen identification, and other applications.

During the period of Covid-19, Gendrive developed a number of products for rapid and accurate detection of the virus. With these products came a need for instructional films and materials to be created, to train staff and also customers. North Film were commissioned to create these films, as well as handling product photography for brochure and online use.

Having collaborated on several projects now, Genedrive have been delighted by our slick, professional training films, as well as the quick turn around and flexibility we are able to offer our clients. The film here has been specially created to showcase some of our work together, and contains a mixture of footage from different videos.

White Paper Games are a small, independent studio based in Manchester, UK with a goal to deliver compelling narratives “that leave you with lingering thoughts long after you’ve left our worlds.” At the point of North Film beginning work with White Paper Games, they had released two titles; ‘Ether One’ and ‘The Occupation’. With development beginning on their third IP, ‘Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View’, they were looking for a series of Development Diaries to be created that would chart the production process throughout.

White Paper had taken part in a documentary North had created a few years prior, exploring the Manchester Indie Developer sector and as such a relationship had already been struck up. When WPG needed some new content creating here, it led to a conversation and an agreement to chart the making of Conway!

This led to a strange period of time, as the game’s production and filming schedule fell almost perfectly over the period of Covid, meaning the team was working from home for almost the entirety of the development. As such, this made planning our shoots and content even more important, as we would discuss what content each month needed to take in and then schedule covid-safe appearances in the office with the necessary team members. This also meant a lot of content was captured remotely over zoom and so we had to work to bring all of that together in as engaging a way as possible.

In the end we produced 15 Development Diary films, with the fifteenth taking in the release of the game. Following this, White Paper commissioned North to create a documentary all about the studio, from its very beginnings through to modern day. Once complete, this was hosted exclusively on The Escapist Youtube channel.

The journey with WPG has been one of our favourites here at North Film and it really has felt like joining a family rather than just another work team - the passion, energy and camaraderie between all of the team is amazing and we’re already planning for our next collaboration when the studio begin work on their follow-up IP.

thestartupfactory.tech specialise in building startup businesses and technology products. Their experience puts clients in a unique position to accelerate startup growth and innovation, and mitigate the risk of startup failure.

Recently they collated their experiences, startup thinking and advise into a short book aimed at supporting aspiring tech entrepreneurs who might not have a technology background. In their own words; “Our book aims to capture the Entrepreneur’s essentials, helping entrepreneurs launch and build better and more successful tech startups. It is impossible (and quite inappropriate) to try to tell the entire startup roadmap to success in a single book on entrepreneurship. What we’ve tried to do is capture all the ‘must haves’ and invite you to dig in and digest.”

North Film were on hand to capture the launch of the book at one of the many events that tsf.tech run for the tech community in Manchester, delivering the talks in full for tsf, as well as this short highlights film.

Having worked with UKBAA on the Invest In Creative suite of films, a strong working relationship had already been established with North Film. Therefore when UKBAA were looking to rebrand a series of films that they had had made years prior, we were the obvious first port of call.

Working together closely, we were told that the films had a slightly dated look to their graphics and use of stock imagery, and so we worked to generate a creative that removed all use of stock images and brought these films up to date with a bright, punchy, professional graphical feel and slick transitions. The existing suite of videos comprised 50+ films across 6 modules, and we had to essentially “rebuild” all of these edits from scratch including all interview content within. Once edited, we also did a full pass over on re-colour grading all footage included.

The result is a series of films that feel much more vibrant and modern than they did previously, with a fresh music track edited throughout and a final polish that unifies all films under a singular brand vision.

Having first worked with GC Angels in covering their Gaming Industry panel event, hosted at We Work in partnership with GC Business Growth Hub's Creative Scale-Up Team, North Film struck up a great working relationship that last well over a 12 month period.

Together we worked on a series of podcasts that GC Business Growth Hub were launching, edited and branded virtual events that took place and also covered an event taking place at Hallidays in Stockport through GC Angels.

The ScaleUp Institute is a private sector, not-for-profit company focused on making the UK the best place in the world to scale up a business. Their ambition is that the UK becomes the most fertile ground for businesses, not only to start up but to scale up and grow. The ScaleUp Institute builds on the pioneering research and recommendations published in the 2014 Scale-Up Report. The Institute collaborates with policy makers, corporate partners and educational establishments to take these recommendations forward, to track the targets set out in the report, and to make a real and identifiable impact.

Having first collaborated on the Invest In Creative film suite, North Film and SUI have gone on to collaborate several times, handling internal edits and rebranding of films, as well as helping to deliver a large suite of films for the ScaleUp Institutes Annual Review. These included yearly summaries, introductory graphics for different panelists and sections, as well as bringing to life a detailed 50 slide document of information in a slick, fun, engaging manner live and in-person. Supporting all of this, North film also captured a business meeting in the heart of Birmingham, the footage of which was used throughout the animated collateral.

Working with UK-wide agency Social once again, we helped to capture a series of vox-pops and b-roll images of various commuters and stations around the North of England.

With a focus on telling “real rail stories”, the aim was to capture the British people sharing their own lived experiences on the railway. We filmed for Social for a day, interviewing as many people as we could and taking in as many stations as was possible within the time frame, before handing off the footage for the agency’s in-house team to put the finishing touches on a wide range of social media content for Transport for the North.

Running Dangerously was set up by best selling author and extreme adventurer Jordan Wylie (Channel 4’s ‘Hunted’), with the aim to run through three of the worlds most dangerous countries; Somalia, Iraq & Afghanistan.

The campaign featured a 10K through Somaliland, a half marathon through the blistering heat of Iraq and a full marathon through the mountains of Afghanistan. Jordan trained extensively all year for the runs, with the funds raised through the campaign going toward paying for the education of children in each of the war torn countries.

Boutinot Wines is one of the leading UK-based distributors of quality wines from around the world. Their portfolio consists of over 1600 wines and they sell more than 44 million bottles each year. Recently they were looking to create a series of films in which they paired a selection of their wines with complimentary dishes. For this they collaborated with chef Paul Askew and his Liverpool Art School Restaurant.

North Film were on hand to capture a number of dishes being created and paired, as well as other promotional imagery for Boutinot and the Art School as well.

A series of visual poems composed in tandem with the words and performace of Māori poet, Tahla Krösschell. These projects were a particular favourite of the team at North, enlisting creative and emotive imagery to support the stunning words of Tahla.

Six ex-Forces personnel, with a combined 74 years of service, were arrested in October 2013 after they were accused of entering Indian waters without permission. They were on board the American-owned anti-piracy vessel the MV Seaman Guard Ohio, tasked with protecting merchant seamen in some of the most dangerous waters in the world. Once they boarded the ship, officials discovered 35 firearms and ammunition.

The Indian High Court, at first, accepted the paperwork was in order and dismissed the case but the men were unable to leave India while a lengthy appeal against the charges being dropped was considered. This led to the men standing trial at the magistrate court, who then decided that the men had failed to prove that they were on anti-piracy duties. In January 2016 they were found guilty by the court and sentenced to five years imprisonment.

These highly emotive films were delivered in support of the campaign, focusing on the individual family members and their own stories and struggles in the face of this miscarriage of justice.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 28,000 staff. It was formed on 1st October 2017 and since then has been responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

North Film were commissioned by MFT to help create a series of virtual events, for both their Sparkle In The City Gala bid event, as well as their annual Christmas Carols In The City event. For CitC, North worked to capture live performances from the Brass Monkees and also the Manchester Grammar School band, as well as recording scripted content with John Thomson, who hosted the event. Promos were also created for Selfridges and other sponsors, and everything was delivered ahead of time, so that both events would run “live” on the night.

The films here are a collection of some of the works created for it, as well as some highlight edits created just for our website. We’ve also created assets and films and promotions beyond these events, cementing our excellent working relationship.

North Film spoke to Girls' Game Lab founder Caoimhe Roddy about her new initiative, designed to help inspire young girls to develop their coding skills and get into gaming from a young age.

As part of the workshop, attendees are given the skills and knowledge to build their own platform game, which they then can take home to play or continue developing.

Caoimhe also discusses the issues that many women find in the "crunch" of working in the games industry and what she hopes will change in the future.
